Peterick was part of the monster rock group Survivor (remember Eye of the Tiger? Yep!), Bramlett cut her teeth in East St. Louis. She’s sung with Joe Cocker, Carly Simon, and Jimmy Buffett. Check her growly, wailing voice on tunes like Superstar (Grammy nominee!). Keagy’s rocked with the power group Night Ranger (Sister Christian‹Blurbchick waxes nostalgic!). Nashville & Grammys

Just as the dust is settling on another fab Seattle weekend ( I discovered Stephens Pass and a whole bunch of snow) It's time to head to Nashville for a series of label meetings and  to do a Leadership Music panel... and then off to LA for our part in the WMG Grammy afterparty which will be happening at what used to be the Catholic Cathedral in downtown...looks like it'll be a fun night!!

Because Z-Boyz Rock

I'm knackered.. the whole getting home at 2:30 propped up on a few cans of RedBull then trying to get to sleep so I can get out of bed at 6:30 to do it all again looks way better in Outlook than it feels!

But hell it was worth it last night!.. our lifestyle guys did a "Seattle Takeover" event last night, stuffing the Baltic room (max capacity of 300 tops) with the "whose who of Seattle urban culture" to see a one off from Clipse . The line was round the block when I got there at 10:30 with Markus and the War Room crew.. by 11:30 the line was in the street and thanks to Jamaal I was whisked up into the sanctuary of the VIP area (this is where I got my hands on the free Red Bull... read-caffeine mistake)

Anyway.. when Clipse eventually went on, the place went nuts.. and courtesy to the really big guy next to me I disappeared in a huge cloud of shall we say "smoke with healing properties".. I guess one mans pleasure is another mans poison!

Party like a rat packer

Well for a few minutes at the Zune party at Tao in Vegas I felt like the ass&^* door guy at Studio 54... somehow word spread hugely about the party and we ended up with about 700 people in line for a party that would fit 300, anyway somehow we ended up with most people in and a wicked party

Vegas smaygus...

How unusual.. I find myself in an airport waiting for a delayed Alaska flight... tell me it is not so, and that this is indeed a dream, after all their reliability and timeliness is legendary.. along with the valiant efforts of the battle hardened Swiss Army and the health benefits of a week in Vegas..

so here I sit.. last night however the Zune crew threw the party of CES at Opium Den at Toa... it was an absolute zoo, and raged to the talents of Questlove & MC until the wee hours even by Vegas standards.. anyway everyone was dancing... and I mean everyone even me! Pictorial evidence should be on TheCobraSnake.Com later today

Anyway, that said if you're in NYC weekend you should go hang out with DB here

on the raz in LA

Ahhh... as much as I've come to realize I really don't like LA that much I had a wicked night out last night, and am now sitting at the airport again (surprise!). Subrosa Purr rocked it, demonstrating exactly what the guys over at Dangerbird were thinking way back when as they signed them up for an EP along with their better known peers Silversun Pickups (who are incidentally playing the Popscene party tomorrow night in SF) one off hand comment from the Subrosas did make me chuckle "we have 6000 friends on myspace, and there's 50 of you here... now we know who our real friends are." Which got me thinking about rating your friends by the number of times they view your page.. then I started thinking that that is wrought with stalker potential.. and then I had another Red Bull!

Post purr, I set off to Safari Sams to catch the end of OK Go who as we walked in were in the middle of lip-syncing and performing their now famous YouTube treadmill dance routine with the camp sincerity usually reserved for German burlesque dancers...(read "it was hysterical") and of course the crowd dug it big time.. what was also rare and pleasing to see was at the end of the set, the band finished, the DJ cranked up the house system.. and a club full of Angelenos started dancing!!.. I was wondering if they we're all hopped up on Christmas cheer, but was told "Tuesdays at Safari Sams are alway like this.".. who knew?  What I would recommend if you're in LA Jan 26th would be popping out to the house o Sam for Veruca Salt.. who as I've mentioned before have not only completely redefined themselves with a killer new lineup.. but also rock harder than..mmm (thinks) harder than this crappy cookie I'm trying to eat!

Holiday Cheer

Well again the damn phone is holding my pictures... and these ones are from the Xbox/Zune Holiday bash last weekend which featured a host of entertainment including Eagles of Death Metal , fresh from getting booted from the GnR tour and in great spirits they rocked hard and the peeps liked it!.. well you'd imagine they would I guess!

The week in rock

I'm having one of those "how did it get to be Wednesday already?" moments. What a fantastic week already... in truth it started with a fab VIP trip to the Sonics game on Friday. While I know nothing about the game, I had an awesome time hanging with Phil Ek who produced the Band of Horses record and just completed work on The Shins album and Markus Lalario who manages Band of Horses and also has a little joint here in time called the War Room, which was home to a great night of DnB last night with Kid Hops and DJ Logistics (UK). Anyway, before I forget I finally managed to liberate some pictures from my phone..

ahh yes the joy of technology.. behold pictures.. woohoo... anyway on Sunday I got to go to The Moore theater for a triple bill of Simon Dawes , Silversun Pickups and Wolfmother....what and awesome night out.. all the bands were great, but Wolfmother were absolutely amazing. I needed convincing to get my head around the obvious strong influences in their sound.. I'm convinced! If you're on the fence, go see 'em.. that simple!

On Monday Simon Dawes were good enough to drop by the Zune HQ and play some tunes for us, before being whisked off on an impromptu tour of our nerve center by J Allard.. lucky guys!
